Absa Cape Epic – Stage 1

Team Meerendal enjoyed a successful day in various categories during Stage 1 of the 2015 Absa Cape Epic in the Elgin Valley.
Stage 1 saw Team Meerendal tackle 113km of riding and 2800m on a wet and testing day.


The highlights of the day include Esther Süss and Alice Pirard of “Team Meerendal Wheeler“ clinching a spot on the podium by finishing 3rd and Milena Landtwing and Hielke Elferink of “Team Meerendal Wheeler Cannondale” finishing 7th in the Womens Category.


Pre-race favourites Bärti Bucher and Heinz Zörweg finished first in the Grand Masters Category for the second consecutive day to continue their positive momentum.


Jochen Käss and Daniel Geismayr of “Meerendal Centurion Vaude” finished 6th in an extremely competitive Mens Category.
Stage 2 will see the Riders take on a distance of 92km and 2300m of climbing as the race spends another day in the Elgin Valley.
