Team Meerendal completed the King’s Stage of the 2015 Absa Cape Epic as they made the 117km and 2500m distance from Worcester to Wellington during a warm and dusty day.
With a tough week behind them all teams showed signs of weariness but were still able to fight to a respectable position in their various categories.
In the Mens Category Jochen Käss and Daniel Geismayr of “Team Meerendal Centurion Vaude” finished in 11th position as most of the Mens teams struggled to sustain positive momentum.
Bärti Bucher and Heinz Zörweg of “Team Meerendal BIXS KTM” are one step closer to the Grand Masters Category win after yet another Stage win to continue their clean sweep to the title.
Esther Süss and Alice Pirard of “Team Meerendal Wheeler” had a frustrating day as they finished in fourth position on the day but they remain favourites to finish in the top 3 overall.
Stage 6 is the penultimate Stage of the race and will be significantly easier after a challenging week with a distance of 71km and 2000m of climbing.
