Meerendal Wine Estate and Cape Brewing Co. are pleased to announce that Angelika Tazreiter will ride the 2018 Cape Epic alongside Esther Süss.
It will be the first Cape Epic for the Austrian, alongside defending champion Esther Süss who will be riding for the 10th time. Tazreiter says she “couldn’t quite believe it and had to read it twice” when she received the message from Süss about riding the Cape Epic together. “At first, I obviously hoped that Jennie didn’t injure herself too badly,” she said. She went on to say that “I’ve always wanted to ride this race, and to do it with Esther is even more incredible.”
Esther Süss says she was “very relieved” when she got confirmation that she would be able to ride with Angelika Tazreiter. “I’m very excited that everything worked out,” she said. “I’m sure I’ll have to answer a lot of questions, since Angelika is a newbie, but we will fight hard to make our race a success.”
Meerendal Wine Estate and Cape Brewing Co. are confident that we have found a strong replacement rider in Angelika Tazreiter, who will perform well alongside Esther Süss at the 2018 Cape Epic.
